MIT Sloan Associate Dean of Executive Education is New UNICON Chair

UNICON, a global consortium of business‐school‐based executive education organizations dedicated to the development of leaders and managers through executive development initiatives, has appointed Rochelle Weichman, Associate Dean of Executive Education at MIT Sloan School of Management, Chair of the board. Established in 1972, UNICON is a community of members engaged in accelerating the development of business leaders and managers by designing and delivering non-degree Executive Education courses and programs for individuals and organizations. The organization promotes best practices and supports the development of its member organizations and their professional staff.

Associate Dean Weichman has been at MIT Sloan for 23 years, including three years as Associate Dean for Executive Education and the previous five years as the program’s Executive Director. During her tenure, the department’s staff size and revenue have doubled. In her remarks at the UNICON director’s conference she outlined what will serve as the foundation of her one-year role as Chairperson: “Prepare, share, and care.” She hopes to engage the UNICON membership at a new level.

In addition, Associate Dean Weichman has developed a two-year plan with Vice Chair Kelly Bean, of UCLA. The second year will be implemented when Bean becomes Board Chair in 2014.
