Cornell Tech Reveals Verizon Executive Education Center and Hotel Plans

This week, Cornell Tech presented plans for its Verizon Executive Education Center and Hotel, which will be built on the Roosevelt Island campus.

Andrew Winters, Senior Director of Capital Projects, says the Snøhetta-designed buildings will “serve as a front door for the campus.” The hotel will have 195 rooms, a café, restaurant, and rooftop lounge. The Executive Education Center will include space for events accommodating 300 people, as well as four 50- to 75-seat classrooms. Located on the Queensboro Bridge side of the campus, the buildings will be joined by a shared hall.

Following approval from the city’s Public Design Commission, the two buildings, which constitute the last part of phase one of the Roosevelt Island campus, are expected to be complete in 2019. They join The Bridge, the campus’s tech incubator; the Bloomberg Center; and a 26-story residential building as part of the first phase.
