In a November 2016 report by IDC, VMware was named the leading company for virtual client computing software. VMware was one of three companies in the “Leader” segment of the “IDC MarketScape Worldwide Virtual Client Computing Software Vendor Assessment,” followed by Citrix and Microsoft. VMware was also ranked highest in the “Strategies” and “Capabilities” categories.
