Cornell University broke ground this week on its new high-tech campus in New York City. At the groundbreaking ceremony, former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced a $100 million gift from Bloomberg Philanthropies that will help fund construction. The first academic building will be called the Bloomberg Center, in honor of Bloomberg’s daughters.
