NYU Stern and NYU Shanghai to Jointly Offer Graduate Degrees in Business

NYU Stern and NYU Shanghai (NYUSH) will offer two new Master’s of Science programs beginning in June 2019: Data Analytics & Business Computing, and Quantitative Finance.

NYUSH spent its first five years focusing on undergraduate education. These degrees are the first graduate programs to be offered by NYUSH and will be taught by current Stern faculty members. Vice Dean of Global and Executive Education at NYU Stern Eitan Zemel, who was the first Dean of Business at NYUSH, calls these programs “a milestone event in the life of NYU Shanghai and NYU Stern.”

About 32% of NYUSH undergraduate students major in Business. In addition, the school has three research centers: the Center of Business Education and Research, Center for Data Science and Analytics, and the Volatility Institute. NYU Stern Dean Raghu Sundaram comments, “We are excited to partner with NYU Shanghai and bring to bear our best finance and data science scholars to prepare the next generation of young minds to excel in two high-growth markets in Asia.

NYUSH Vice Chancellor Jeffrey Lehman says, “This new collaboration with NYU Stern fits right within NYU Shanghai’s philosophy of offering innovative graduate programs that are tailored to meet societal needs. The programs are designed to combine the best of both schools and place students at the forefront of business education in China and Asia.”
