New Nonprofit Will Create Executive Education Programs for Print and Graphic Services

Professor Chris Bondy of Rochester Institute of Technology, Wayne Peterson of the Black Canyon Consulting Group, and author and industry consultant Dr. Joe Webb recently incorporated UnSquaring the Wheel, a nonprofit education entity that will create executive education programs for print and graphic services owners and leadership teams.

Based on the book UnSquaring the Wheel, the program will help businesses identify opportunities and effectively apply their resources. Wayne Peterson comments, “UnSquaring the Wheel was designed for businesses from large to small. It leads to a unique business model tailored for a particular business. It’s the end of one-size-fits-all resources and training for graphic communications firms.”

Professor Bondy adds, “The program is built on a proprietary business assessment instrument. It evaluates the three major business disciplines: customer, platform, and resources. It models the strengths and gaps of the business in nine different aspects, guiding management in its decisions and their priorities.”

In beta testing, participants were very enthusiastic, but were often surprised that the answers from the assessment were not always what they expected. According to Dr. Webb, “The business assessment is an essential starting point because it answers the question about where to begin. The process results in a tailored and breakthrough business model that can be grown into.”
