Harvard Innovation Lab

The Harvard Innovation Lab (i-lab), launched in November 2011, is a resource for students interested in entrepreneurship and innovation, with programs designed to help them grow ventures. A unique collaboration, the i-lab serves as a gateway to the expanding Allston campus and its vision to become a truly cross-disciplinary research- and innovation-focused learning and development community.

The i-lab is open to any Harvard student with any idea at any stage of formation. It offers a five-stage model focused on foundational and experiential learning. It also hosts a Venture Incubation Program, a 12-week program combining mentoring, workshops, and community. Select teams move onto the Launch Lab, a prototype co-working space and program of funded alumni ventures.

Led by Srikant Datar, faculty chair of the Harvard Innovation Lab, as well as Arthur Lowes Dickinson Professor of Business Administration at Harvard Business School, the i-lab also hosts various events, including the upcoming Deans’ Challenge Demo Day, which takes place the evening of May 4th. During this event, 10 finalist teams from two Deans’ Challenges present their ventures to the Harvard/Cambridge/Boston community. The sponsoring deans of each Challenge will announce the winners and runners-up and present more than $100,000 in prize money.
