Harvard Business School Announces Executive Education Health Care Programs

As part of its Health Care Initiative (HCI), Harvard Business School has begun offering a portfolio of health care-focused executive education programs. Harvard Business School will offer three leadership development programs in this portfolio, designed to prepare executives to lead through the challenges and opportunities facing the health care industry. Participants will explore new approaches for improving patient value and service by examining some of the world’s leading health care business models.

One of these programs is Value Measurement for Health Care (December 14 – 16, 2015), designed for senior clinical leaders and top financial executives at large, established health care delivery organizations, which will focus on effective methods for reducing expenses and improving value for patients through better measurement of health care delivery costs. Michael Porter, Faculty Co-chair for this program, is the leading authority on strategy and competitiveness and is Director of the Institute for Strategy and Competitiveness.

Another new health care program is Business Innovations in Global Health Care (June 22 – 25, 2016). Designed for executives of large, established health care organizations; government agencies; and health care management, consulting, and investing firms, this course will focus on ways to lead innovation in health care delivery, insurance, life sciences, and information technology, while navigating the regulatory, cultural, and political challenges of today’s global health care environment.

Das Narayandas, Senior Associate Dean and Chair of Executive Education and Harvard Business Publishing, comments, “The complex challenges of today’s health care market require a new kind of leader. This portfolio connects top global health care leaders with renowned faculty and new case study material to examine leading-edge developments in health care business models, efficient and effective management and improved value measurement. Our focus is to promote a dialogue that allows participants to bring the highest quality of care and increased value to patients around the world.”
