Fortune/UNC Announce Online Certificate Programs for Executives
Time Inc.’s Fortune and UNC’s Kenan-Flagler Business School recently announced the first online certificate programs for executives.
“Leading with Purpose,” beginning October 2, 2017, and “Most Powerful Women,” to launch in 2018, are the first of five certificate programs offered by Fortune/UNC. Kenan-Flagler professors will teach the programs, which are geared to executive and emerging leaders interested in the flexibility of online education. Content will be produced in collaboration with UNC-TV, Public Media North Carolina, and will contain exclusive access to Fortune’s interviews and conversations with C-suite executives and other business experts.
Brad Staats, a professor at UNC Kenan-Flagler, says, “We’ve seen the power of online learning for working professionals in our degree programs. Now we are innovating in the executive education arena, and it’s exciting to incorporate Fortune interviews and content to bring in the insights of business leaders and Fortune 500 CEOs on topics we are discussing in the courses and show the practical applications.”
Alan Murray, Chief Content Officer of Time Inc. and President of Fortune, comments, “Fortune is always looking for innovative ways to engage with business leaders, which is why we’re thrilled to be working with UNC Kenan-Flagler on a certificate program for executives. Our video interviews with the world’s leading CEOs will provide a unique opportunity for those enrolled in these programs to learn from the masters.”
“Leading With Purpose” topics include:
* Developing your leadership style
* Leading and embracing organizational change
* Leading with analytics
* Innovation: Discovery to application
* Corporate and business strategy: Managing scope and competitive advantage
Executives who successfully complete three of the five courses will receive a certificate, and individuals who complete an executive-level certificate will join the Fortune/UNC network, offering exclusive access to an online community of leadership peers and an invitation-only annual conference.
