Paddy Miller, professor, speaker, and leadership consultant, passed away in Barcelona on September 14th at the age of 71.

Known for his mustache and his spirited manner, Miller was a presence in IESE classrooms for 35 years. He joined the faculty in 1984 and became a popular professor in the Managing People in Organizations Department, acting as academic director for many executive education programs and directing the doctoral program from 1991 through 1995.

Miller was a driving force behind IESE’s international expansion beginning in the 1980s and strongly supported the school’s growth in Asia, living in Hong Kong.

His areas of academic interest were leadership, innovation, and change management, as well as specific issues of leading innovation in multinational organizations. He wrote and contributed to numerous books and articles, which appeared in publications such as The Financial Times and Harvard Business Review.

Miller was sought after as a speaker for executive education programs in the Unites States and Europe and took part in international programs offered by Harvard University, the University of Michigan, the University of Virginia, and the University of Cape Town.
