As part of its celebration of 100 years since its founding, Columbia Business School is hosting a panel titled “What’s Next in Management Education” during its Centennial Symposium: A Century of Impact, a Future of Innovation. This discussion will take place May 2, 2016, at 1:15 PM, at the University’s Low Library Rotunda and will feature deans from top U.S. business schools – Geoffrey Garrett, Wharton School Dean, Reliance Professor of Management and Private Enterprise, and Professor of Management; Glenn Hubbard, Columbia Business School Dean; Nitin Nohria, Harvard Business School Dean; and Garth Saloner, Stanford Graduate School of Business Dean and Philip K. Knight Professor.

Jan Hopkins, Former Anchor and Correspondent at CNN, will moderate the panel, which will address the following questions:

* What are the challenges and opportunities facing today’s MBA programs?

* How will business schools evolve to meet the demands of a changing economy?

* Will the value of the MBA degree continue to be as prized in the future?

Glenn Hubbard, Dean of Columbia Business School, observes, “Focusing on creating flexible, adept leaders is critical for business schools to continue attracting top talent. My fellow panelists are all esteemed leaders in the field, and I am hopeful we will bring forward innovative approaches to bridging theory and practice in the curriculums, experiences, and ideas we offer students.”

Additional panels titled “The Changing Face of Global Business: Prospects and Challenges for the Next 100 Years” and “Value Is the Heart of Success for Business and Society: What Lies Ahead?” will take place later that day.
