CERAH Offers Executive Short Courses

The Centre for Education and Research in Humanitarian Action (CERAH), an academic and research center based in Geneva and a joint center of the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (IHEID) and the University of Geneva (UNIGE), offers executive short courses reflecting the current trends and needs in the humanitarian sector.

These one-week courses are intensive and highly interactive, designed to provide participants with practical tools and help them develop their analytical skills.

CERAH Executive short courses for 2020 include:

* Participatory Approaches with Crisis-Affected Communities (April 27 – 30, 2020) – Focuses on understanding opportunities, challenges, and limits of dialogue with communities to build constructive relationships; studies theories, case studies, and practical implementation

* Designing an Advocacy Strategy for Humanitarian Action (May 4 – 8, 2020) – Helps participants develop strategic skills to better analyze specific contexts, map stakeholders, and design effective advocacy strategies in support of operational humanitarian projects

* Media and Humanitarian Action (May 11 – 15, 2020) – Offers participants a better understanding of traditional and social media and the use of media relations in humanitarian settings

* Negotiation in Humanitarian Crises (May 25 – 29, 2020) – Focuses on the design of adapted negotiation strategies and the development of participants’ self-awareness, using case studies brought by participants
