Bill Nye’s latest book, Everything All at Once: How to Unleash Your Inner Nerd, Tap into Radical Curiosity and Solve Any Problem, will be published this week. It aims to help readers develop critical thinking skills and create change, using Nye’s “everything all at once” approach, which leaves no stone unturned. He encourages us to use strategies that get results: looking at the world with relentless curiosity, being driven by a desire for a better future, and being willing to take actions needed to make change happen. It is the story of how Bill Nye became who he is today.

On Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at 5:30 PM Eastern Time, Bill Nye will be the featured guest on the latest episode of MACH in VR, a new virtual-reality series from NBC News MACH. He will discuss his book and share his ideas to fix the big problems we face – such as remaking our transportation network, solving climate change, drastically reducing poverty, and vastly improving human health – and will outline his “eight principles of everything.”

Bill Nye is a science educator, best known for hosting “Bill Nye the Science Guy” on PBS from 1993 to 1998. Over the show’s five-year run it won 19 Emmy Awards, and Bill Nye personally received seven Emmys, for writing, performing, and producing. He graduated from Cornell University and was a mechanical engineer for Boeing before his entertainment career. Nye has been the Frank H.T. Rhodes Visiting Professor at Cornell.

Nye has written several children’s books about science, including Unstoppable: Harnessing Science to Change the World. In the early 2000s, he helped develop sundials that were used in the Mars Exploration Rover missions, and from 2005 to 2010, he served as vice president and second executive director of The Planetary Society, one of the largest space-interest groups in the world.
