Wharton Offering General Management Programme and Advanced Finance Programme in India

Wharton will be offering two marquee programs in India through an agreement with The Second Wind (TSW), an initiative by Times Professional Learning: General Management Programme and Advanced Finance Programme.

David Heckman, Wharton Executive Education Senior Director, recently traveled to India and spoke with BW Businessworld about the challenges upcoming CEOs must overcome to be successful. Wharton Executive Education allows senior executives to gain global exposure and intellectual knowledge from the faculty, resulting in intellectual capital as well as the social capital and networking with individuals from around the world. Participants in the Wharton programs learn how to lead the organization.

Heckman added that CEOs must be visionaries and able to inspire people to want to embrace change to drive for new directions, in addition to being good at execution, controlling costs, and driving revenue growth. He commented that one of the big takeaways from the book The India Way, by his colleagues Peter Cappelli, Harbir Singh, and Michael Useem, is that Indian executives are open to learning from anyone. That is a huge advantage for India. Students from India are disciplined, reading every case study and doing all the homework to gain all they can from the learning experience. Their big challenge is becoming multidisciplinary rather than focusing on their area of expertise.
