Cornell University broke ground this week on its new high-tech campus in New York City. At the groundbreaking ceremony, former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced a $100 million gift from Bloomberg Philanthropies that will help fund construction. The first academic building will be called the Bloomberg Center, in honor of Bloomberg’s daughters. Bloomberg called the building of the high-tech college campus, in the heart of New York City, a long-term vision that would brings thousands of jobs.
