National Association for Female Executives Names Top 60 Companies for Executive Women

The National Association for Female Executives (NAFE) has announced the 2017 Top 60 Companies for Executive Women.

Johnson & Johnson is among the Top 10. Results state, “Founded in 1886, this health care company has a long tradition of supporting working women, who made up eight of its first 14 employees, were among those conducting its earliest scientific tests, and have served as department supervisors for more than a century. Today, women fill 30% of the board of directors here and earn 47% of all promotions.

“The employer’s Accelerate leadership initiatives, for those at the manager level and above, emphasize gender balance, and multiple executive education courses serve women exclusively. The Enterprise Sponsorship Program for Diverse Talent, now being piloted companywide, pairs female and multicultural directors and vice presidents with direct reports to the CEO, who help them understand how to intensify their development.”

The NAFE Top Companies for Executive Women application has more than 200 questions on female representation at all levels, especially the corporate officer and profit-and-loss levels. It tracks the number of employees that have access to programs and policies that promote the advancement of women, and how many employees take advantage of them. The application requests information on how companies train managers to help women advance, and how managers are held accountable for the advancement of female employees they oversee.
