Harvard Business School Global Energy Seminar

Harvard Business School has announced a new section for their Global Energy Seminar.  This course addresses many facets of the changing global energy marketplace, and aims to help organizations compete in this industry in a strategic and responsible way. Executives from around the world who work in the fields of energy, technology, finance, utilities, and distribution are encouraged to attend.

This four-day course explores dynamic forces, innovations, and recent trends in energy production and distribution. Executives learn by participating in case studies, classroom discussions, and guest lectures. All case studies presented are energy-specific, and cases include the Nissan Motor Co., Ltd.; Pemex; TerraPower; Valero; and United Services Automobile Association (USAA).

Topics include:

– Globalization and geopolitics

– Business-government relations

– State-controlled markets

– Risk management

– New service providers and business models

– Technological innovations

Prestigious Harvard Business School professors teach this Executive Education course. Faculty co-chairs are Rawi Abdelal, Noel Maurer, and Forest Reinhardt. Abdelal is the Herbert F. Johnson Professor of International Management. Maurer is an Associate Professor of Business Administration, and Reinhardt is the John D. Black Professor of Business Administration.

Harvard Business School’s Global Energy Seminar will be held November 2 – 5, 2014, at their Boston, MA campus. The cost for the course is $8,500, which includes tuition, books, case materials, accommodations, and most meals.
